To make everybody’s existence easier, I created this page.

As you know, I am SUPER relaxed as a teacher when we talk about tardies, attendance, hair, clothing etc…

I also navigate a busy life + motherhood with 3 kids, so I am as understanding as I can possibly be. But I am going to need your cooperation, very particularly the last week of April and the first 10 days of May.

Please, whenever you have time, compare the rates of any other school with what I charge, not only I am totally off/below the charts, but I also include Master classes in an effort to trying to increase their experiences, like bringing Rafael Ramirez, Sonia Franco… I can totally make some good $3,000 USD myself if I open the master classes to the public. But then I know the public will not be Semilla Flamenca students, and what I want, is for these girls to have those experiences, so I actually put from my pocket $2,000 to make it happen.

I am sharing this information to let you understand my frustration, when I have a Master Class where 5 girls don’t show up, for whatever reason you want to mention. When 5 girls are over 45 minutes late for a rehearsal at BENAROYA HALL.

So:

This May, as anounced 7 months ago, I am bringing Marta Ortiz, the best teacher we had in Cadiz! I don’t even want to share what I am inviesting to bring Marta here, but what I want is my students to show up, every single minute of this effort I am putting together and offering to them. I understand is an effort for you too… So please, take out your calendar/agendas and reserve those dates, plan accordingly.

I am also jumping into having 2 dates for the show this year. Understand the learning experience increases exponentially when you have a second round.

So again, this having 2 dates, is really for them, for may 9-18 years old to get the best experience they can. I do, understand for the parents it will be a crazy busy weekend but please bare with me and do it for them.

Understand also, I wouldn’t be doing all this and putting so much everything if my daughter wasn’t here and these girls were not part of my family.

Lastly… Most of us, spent quite a big deal $ last year in Europe… So bringing Marta is also a way to keep pushing these girls forward without having to travel or spend each of us in full trip elsewhere.

As a side note: The 3rd week of May, my sister’s daughter is graduating from College in DC, and I will be ther the whole week… I have lined up a sub, but if you want to take the week off after all this bonanza of events, you can get a break from Flamenco that week =) We can talk about this after the show and touch base to how everyone is holding up.
